Bilger's Rocks

 Here's a place I checked out on the way to Ashville that I want to take you girls to see: Bilger's Rocks.

 

As you can see from the map, it's located pretty much due north of us less than an hour and a half. That makes it an easy day trip. But there's something really cool: There's camping there!

The carved tree made me think of the carvings I saw so often in Korea. There's also some sort of stage there for activities. We can look into it more when we get back together.

Here's a camping spot. You can see the picnic table. There are plenty of suitable hammock trees and plenty of room to pitch a tent.

Here's the first cool thing: Rock House. The sign says "In Honor of Roland Welker Alone Season #7 Winner; 100 Day King.

 So the big stop of Day 2 was Kinzua Skywalk .  The building pays homage to the viaduct. A good view of the Skywalk: It was covered in snow! Finally getting to the end: And then I cleared off the snow -- or at least enough of it to get a really cool view. (NOT Rayellen's favorite place to visit. The Next Morning's Drive

 Today's post isn't a huge adventure; it's just the drive to Kinzua Skywalk . I got to the campsite after dark so I just pitched the tent rather than wrestle with the hammock and tarps in the cold dark. It was dark and first-come-first serve so I just plunked myself at the first available site. I think it was this one . Look at the snow! That's what I was camping in the night before.  I stopped at this weird historical site . It was some sort of power plant. I didn't go inside; I just gawked at the outside. The barrel looked pretty cool. Close to Kinzua State Park was a railroad crossing where people have to be told to LOOK and not just drive in front of a train. Next post will be Kinzua Skywalk!
